What is a Jinko panel?

Jinko Solar is one of the world’s largest panel manufacturers, with an Australian office in Sydney. Its Tiger Neo range uses N-type TOPCon cells, a technology that generally gives higher efficiency and slower ageing than older panel types. Tiger Neo panels are widely used on Australian homes, and SolarQuotes notes more than 200 gigawatts of Tiger Neo panels have shipped worldwide.

Why we choose Jinko

  • Installers rate it. In SolarQuotes’ 2026 Installer’s Choice Awards (published 30 June 2026), 125 SolarQuotes-vetted installers were asked which brand they would put on their own roof. Jinko came second, ahead of SunPower and REC.
  • Proven N-type technology. TOPCon cells have been in volume production for years, so the track record is real.
  • A solid, reliable panel. It’s the kind of panel installers are happy to put their name to.
  • Warranty. Jinko’s Australian Tiger Neo range lists a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty.

Who Jinko suits

  • Straightforward roofs with good sun. Plenty of space and little shade is where a reliable, well-regarded panel does its job.
  • Larger systems. Good for filling a big roof, including for businesses (see commercial solar).
  • Adding to an existing system. A proven N-type panel is a sensible choice for an extension.
  • Households that want a high-quality panel with a strong installer reputation.

Jinko with a Sigenergy or GoodWe battery

We design panels and battery together. Our premium option is a Sigenergy battery system, and our mid-tier option is a GoodWe battery system. Jinko makes the panels; Sigenergy and GoodWe make the inverter and battery. We size everything from your actual usage, with the rebates built into the design. Already have solar? See adding a battery to existing solar.

Jinko or AIKO?

Both are N-type panels and both did well in SolarQuotes’ 2026 installer survey, with AIKO first and Jinko second. AIKO is our pick for tight roof space, partial shade and the highest efficiency. Jinko suits many straightforward roofs very well. We’ll recommend one for your home and tell you why. Read about AIKO panels.

Warranties

  • Panels: Jinko’s manufacturer product and performance warranties. Your proposal states the terms for your panel.
  • Inverter: 10-year replacement warranty.
  • Battery: 10-year battery warranty, if you add one.
  • 25-year workmanship warranty from us, covering our installation work.

Rebates and finance

We build the federal solar rebate (STCs) into every design, and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate if you add a battery, taken off at point of sale. We handle the paperwork. See your rebates. The battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027, set by install date.

The NSW Home Energy Saver program offers a 0% interest loan up to $15,000 for solar and batteries, through Brighte, for up to 10 years. Rebates come off first. Eligibility criteria apply; subject to lender approval.

How it works with us

1. Free energy assessment: send 1 to 2 recent power bills. We size the system from your real usage.

2. Custom design: a proposal with rebates built in.

3. Site visit: face to face before every install. We check the roof and shading, the switchboard (including any RCBO upgrades), and where a battery would go.

4. Install: usually one day, by our own electricians, then monitoring set-up. We handle the grid application, and connection typically follows in 1 to 3 weeks.

Jinko solar panel FAQs

Who installs Jinko solar panels in the Northern Rivers?

Sun Connect Solar. Our own in-house electricians design and install every system, with no subcontractors. We’re an SAA-accredited installer, a fully licensed NSW electrical contractor, and we back our installation work with a 25-year workmanship warranty.

Are Jinko solar panels good?

Installers rate them highly. In SolarQuotes’ 2026 Installer’s Choice Awards, published on 30 June 2026, Jinko came second when 125 SolarQuotes-vetted installers were asked which brand they’d put on their own roof. SolarQuotes also describes Jinko as a company producing ‘tier 1’ panels with good quality control. We choose Jinko for its solid N-type build and its track record.

Are Jinko panels Tier 1?

SolarQuotes describes Jinko as a company producing ‘tier 1’ panels. Tier 1 is a bankability measure, meaning how likely a manufacturer is to be around to honour its warranty, rather than a quality rating. We look at installer feedback and the panel’s design as well.

How long do Jinko panels last?

Panels are built to run for decades, and the manufacturer’s warranty is the best published guide. Jinko’s Australian Tiger Neo range lists a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty. Output does slowly decline as panels age. Your proposal states the warranty terms for your exact panel.

What is the difference between Jinko Tiger Neo and older Jinko panels?

Tiger Neo panels use N-type TOPCon cells, which generally give higher efficiency and slower degradation than older P-type panels. If you’re looking at an older quote or an existing system, we can explain which type you have.

Is Jinko better than AIKO?

They suit different roofs. AIKO is our pick for tight roof space, partial shading and the highest efficiency. Jinko is a well-regarded N-type panel that suits many straightforward roofs. Both placed in the top two in SolarQuotes’ 2026 installer survey. We recommend whichever suits your home.

Can I add Jinko panels to my existing solar system?

In many cases, yes. It depends on your current inverter, how many panels it can take, and your roof space. New panels are normally wired as their own string so they don’t drag down older ones. We check your system and your bills first.

Can I pair Jinko panels with a Sigenergy or GoodWe battery?

Yes. We design the panels and the battery together. Sigenergy is our premium battery option and GoodWe is our mid-tier option. We also install Sungrow, Solax and Tesla batteries.

Do Jinko panels work in the heat?

All panels lose a little output as they heat up. We allow for that when we size a system, and we leave air space behind the panels when we mount them. The manufacturer’s datasheet for your exact panel lists the temperature coefficient, and we can go through it with you.

Who looks after the warranty if something goes wrong?

The panel warranty is Jinko’s, and Jinko has an office in Sydney. We deal with the manufacturer on your behalf. Our own 25-year workmanship warranty covers our installation work.
