Mullumbimby is home. Our base is right here in town.
Sun Connect Solar is a Mullumbimby business (postal address Box 162, 89–91 Dalley St, Mullumbimby NSW 2482). Mullum has a long history with local power: in 1925 it became one of the first country towns in NSW to get electricity, from the hydro-electric scheme on Wilsons Creek. A century later, plenty of locals want to make their own power again.

In town
Many Mullum homes are older timber houses, and part of the town is a heritage conservation area. We check council’s requirements where they apply and keep the layout neat. Older homes often have older switchboards too. We check yours on the site visit, including any RCBO upgrades needed to meet current safety standards, so there are no surprises on install day.
After the 2022 flood
In February 2022 the Brunswick River at Mullumbimby went above its previous record. Water went through the CBD and residential streets. If your home is on the low side of town, we place the battery and inverter as high as is practical and compliant, and talk it through with you first.
Main Arm, Upper Main Arm and Wilsons Creek
The 2022 flood also showed how exposed the valleys are: Main Arm was cut off for days, and landslips took out roads and even a house at Upper Main Arm. Out here, power can be off longer than in town.
- Grid-connected with backup: a typical battery install from us backs up the whole home in a blackout, unless you ask us to leave circuits out.
- Off-grid: for properties a long way from the grid, we design off-grid systems, and maintain, inspect and repair existing ones.
- Whole-property design: house, studio, shed and pumps, worked out from how you actually use power.
What we install
Sigenergy batteries (premium) and the GoodWe ESA all-in-one with 8 kWh modules (mid-tier), plus Sungrow, Solax and Tesla. AIKO and Jinko panels. Batteries added to existing solar, EV chargers, and commercial solar for Mullum businesses.
How it works
Send us one or two recent power bills for a free energy assessment, or book a 15-minute call. We design your system, visit in person before install, handle the grid application and rebates, install (usually in one day), set up monitoring, and finish with a sign-off call.
Northern Rivers residents: $500 off your system. Ask us about it on your assessment.
NSW Home Energy Saver program: 0% interest loan up to $15,000 for solar and batteries, through Brighte, up to 10 years. Rebates come off first. Eligibility criteria apply; subject to lender approval.
