Why Tweed homes are adding batteries

When ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred came through in March 2025, a lot of Tweed homes lost power for days. Since then, keeping the essentials running in an outage has been front of mind for a lot of locals.

A typical battery install from us backs up the whole home in a blackout, unless you ask us to leave some circuits out (an EV charger, for example). We confirm exactly what will stay on during the site visit.

What we look at on the Tweed

  • Hillside homes at Terranora, Bilambil Heights and Banora Point often have great sun but steep or split roofs. We design for the real roof.
  • Coastal homes at Kingscliff, Casuarina, Cabarita and Pottsville need equipment and fixings that suit a coastal site.
  • Units and townhouses usually need body corporate approval for roof work. We can give you the details your strata committee will ask for.

I live in a townhouse. Can I still get solar?

Often, yes, with body corporate approval. We’ll help with the information they need.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar?

Usually, yes. We check your bills first to see whether your panels can charge a battery for the night.

How long does an install take?

Usually one day, done by our own electricians. Grid connection typically follows 1–3 weeks later.
