We install Sigenergy, GoodWe, Tesla, Sungrow and Solax batteries. Here is how we help people choose, without the sales pitch.
Every brand has fans online. In our experience the brand matters less than getting the size right and the install done properly. All five are serious, established batteries. The differences are features, how they expand, how they suit your existing system, and price point.

The five batteries at a glance
| Battery | What it is | Often suits |
|---|---|---|
| Sigenergy | Our premium option. SigenStor stacks the inverter, battery modules and energy management in one unit. | Room to grow, detailed monitoring, solar and battery together, EV plans |
| GoodWe | Our mid-tier option, very high quality. The ESA all-in-one unit with 8 kWh battery modules. | Getting the outcome you need at a lower price point |
| Tesla Powerwall 3 | 13.5 kWh per unit with a solar inverter built in, plus expansion units. | People who want the Tesla app or already run other Tesla gear |
| Sungrow | Modular battery stacks paired with Sungrow hybrid inverters. | Homes already on Sungrow, or wanting a modular stack |
| Solax | Hybrid inverters with matching modular batteries. | Homes already running Solax equipment |
We lead with Sigenergy and GoodWe because between them they cover most homes, from premium to mid-tier. We fit the others when they suit your home better.
Questions that decide it
What solar do you already have? Your existing inverter can narrow the choice fast. Some batteries pair neatly with what’s there; sometimes an all-in-one that replaces an ageing inverter makes more sense. See adding a battery to existing solar.
Will your needs grow? An EV, kids getting older, working from home or more air-conditioning all add load. Modular systems like Sigenergy and the GoodWe ESA let you add capacity later.
How important is backup? Our typical install backs up the whole home. How each system does it, and what extra hardware it needs, differs by brand. See blackout backup.
How much detail do you want? All five have app monitoring. Some people want every graph; others just want it to work.
Where can it go? Size, weight and wall or floor mounting differ, and battery location rules are strict. We confirm a compliant spot on the site visit.
What price point suits you? We don’t quote prices online, because every system is sized to the home. We’ll give you a straight comparison for yours.
What doesn’t change with the brand
- The same install standard and our own in-house team on every job
- A 10-year battery warranty, a 10-year inverter replacement warranty and our 25-year workmanship warranty on our installation work
- The federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate built in. We check the exact model is on the approved battery list before it goes in your proposal
Size matters as much as brand: see battery sizing from your power bills. The rebate steps down on 1 January 2027: see battery rebate step-down. Paying it off: NSW 0% loan. Or read about solar and battery installation across the Northern Rivers.
Why locals trust our battery advice
- We install all five, so we have no reason to push one brand on you.
- Our own in-house team designs every system and does every install. 25 years in solar and large commercial electrical work.
- A face-to-face site visit before every install: compliant battery position, switchboard and RCBO check, no surprises on the day.
- Sigenergy-approved installer and SAA-accredited.
Battery brand FAQs
Which home battery is best?
The one that suits your home: your existing solar, how much power you use at night, your backup needs and your budget. We recommend one after looking at your bills and tell you why.
Is Tesla better than Sigenergy or GoodWe?
They are all good batteries with different strengths. Tesla Powerwall 3 has a built-in solar inverter and comes in 13.5 kWh units. Sigenergy and the GoodWe ESA are modular all-in-one systems. We help you compare them for your home.
Why do you lead with Sigenergy and GoodWe?
Between them they cover premium and mid-tier, which suits most homes we see. We also install Tesla, Sungrow and Solax when they fit better.
Can I add a battery from a different brand to my existing inverter?
Sometimes. Some batteries connect alongside an existing inverter; others need their own matching inverter. We check your system first.
Do all these batteries get the federal rebate?
We build the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate into every eligible design and check the exact model is on the approved list before it goes in your proposal.
Do they all do blackout backup?
They can all be set up for backup, but the hardware needed and how each switches over differ. We tell you what to expect for your system.
