Beachfront Kingscliff and Salt: the makers’ salt-air rules decide

A lot of Kingscliff, Salt and Casuarina sits close to the beach, and salt on the sea breeze is hard on frames, fasteners and battery enclosures. The makers set the rules here: Sigenergy, Sungrow and SolaX ask for their batteries to go at least 500 metres from the coast, GoodWe asks to approve outdoor installs within 500 metres first, and AIKO and Jinko have their own steps for panels near the shore. Cudgen Creek and Chinderah: keep the battery high and dry

Cudgen Creek is a tidal estuary running from Cudgen Lake out to the sea beside Kingscliff and Casuarina, and Chinderah sits on the low ground beside the Tweed River, where the 2017 and 2022 floods reached. Units, townhouses and holiday homes

Older beachside blocks of units and townhouses usually need body corporate approval for roof work, and often have a shared meter board with little room for new breakers. Holiday homes have their own pattern: high use in the busy weeks, little in between, so sizing from real bills matters even more.
