What it can run

The output setting limits how much can run at once, and the 13.5 kWh limits how long. A home with standard loads is very different from one with pumps and a workshop. We total up your loads at the site visit and tell you what a Powerwall 3 will and will not carry in an outage. See how long will a battery run my house in a blackout?

Is it right for you?

  • Existing solar you want to keep: Tesla says Powerwall 3 works with all major inverter brands, with limits on AC-coupled solar in the backup circuit.
  • A new solar and battery install with the Tesla app: good fit.
  • Need to grow module by module, or want a DC EV charger: compare with Sigenergy.
