Starting again on the same roof

The household already had solar, but it was an older, smaller system. Instead of patching it, they chose to start again: the old panels and inverter came off at no extra charge, and a modern 10.12 kW array went on in their place. The green Colorbond roof has several faces, a vent and a flue, so the layout uses the best faces and works around the flue.

On the roof

The panels went on in neat runs along the ridge lines, with all-black frames that sit quietly on the green roof. From up there you can see across the backyards of East Lismore to the hills. Then came monitoring set-up, the grid connection and a sign-off call.

Upgrading older solar around Lismore

How a solar job like this runs

Is it worth replacing an old solar system?

Can panels go around a flue or vent?

Yes. The layout is planned around flues, vents and skylights so nothing is covered or shaded by the panels, as on this roof.

Can a battery be added later?
