Two long rows of Jinko solar panels on a galvanised roof at a rural home in the Coraki area, part of a 13.3 kW three-phase install by Sun Connect Solar

The job

A rural home in the Coraki area, south of Lismore, with a wide, low-pitched galvanised roof, big gums close by and a three-phase supply. The household wanted plenty of daytime power from a straightforward system. The roof suited two long rows of panels facing the same way, feeding a three-phase inverter.

What we installed

  • Solar: 28 Jinko Tiger Neo panels (475 W each), 13.3 kW in total
  • Inverter: a 10 kW GoodWe SDT G2 three-phase inverter
  • Consumption and production monitoring

How it went

We met on site before install day to check the roof, the three-phase switchboard and the cable run, so there were no surprises on the day. The panels went on in two straight rows on the galvanised sheeting, set back from the edges. Then came monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.

Solar around Coraki and Woodburn

Out on the Richmond River flats and the rises around them, many homes are rural, often three-phase, and some sit low enough that floods matter for anything mounted near the ground. If a battery comes later, its position above flood level is part of the design. Nearby, see a 32 kWh three-phase Sigenergy battery in the Woodburn area.

How every job like this runs

1. Free energy assessment from one or two recent power bills, or a quick phone call on 0483 903 020.

2. Custom design sized from the household’s real usage, with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate and solar STCs taken off at point of sale. We handle the paperwork. See your rebates or try the battery rebate calculator.

3. Face-to-face site visit before install day: compliant battery position, switchboard and RCBO check, and agreement on what stays on in a blackout. No surprises on the day.

4. Install, usually one day, by our own electricians. No subcontractors. Then monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.

Warranties

Every new solar install from us now comes with 10-year inverter replacement, 25-year panel performance and our 25-year workmanship warranty on our installation work. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer warranties.

The federal battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027 and again on 1 July 2027, based on install date. If a battery is on your list, it’s worth getting your assessment done early.

Questions we get asked

Is three-phase power common on rural blocks?

Many farms and rural homes have it for pumps, sheds and workshops. A three-phase inverter spreads the solar across all three phases. We check the supply and the switchboard on the site visit.

Do you install around Coraki and Woodburn?

Yes. Coraki and Woodburn are inside our service area, and we do a face-to-face site visit before every install. Flood levels matter here for any battery position. See where a home battery can be installed.

Can a battery be added later?

Yes, many systems can take a battery later. We work out the best way to do it from what is already there. See adding a battery to existing solar.

Why a big, flat roof?

A large, low-pitched galvanised roof with no shade is ideal for long, straight rows. On this job the whole array fits in two rows facing the same way.
