New solar and a 24.1 kWh Sigenergy battery for a home in the Mullumbimby area.
This household wanted solar and a battery together, installed as one tidy system. We designed and installed a 6.79 kW AIKO solar array with a Sigenergy SigenStor battery, all done by our own in-house team.

The system
- Solar: 14 AIKO Neostar panels, 6.79 kW in total
- Inverter: Sigenergy Sigen Hybrid 12 kW (single phase)
- Battery: Sigenergy SigenStor, 24.1 kWh
What we designed and why
Like every system we design, this one started from the household’s real power use, not a generic package. Putting solar and a battery in at the same time meant one hybrid inverter could run both, with the inverter and battery modules stacked in a single SigenStor unit rather than separate boxes on the wall.
AIKO is one of the two panel brands we install (with Jinko). Sigenergy is the premium end of the batteries we fit, and its modules stack, so more capacity can be added later if the household’s needs change.
The install
The SigenStor stands on the floor of a covered outdoor area, against a brick wall and under the roof line. It’s a battery inverter on top of three battery modules, in one stack.
We fitted a steel bollard on each side to protect the unit from knocks, mounted the required safety and shutdown signage on the wall beside it, and ran the cabling in conduit to the isolator. The battery position, switchboard work and blackout circuits were checked and agreed at the face-to-face site visit before install day.

What it gives the household
- Daytime solar runs the home first, and spare solar charges the battery
- The battery covers evening and overnight use, so less power is bought from the grid
- Blackout backup: a typical install backs up the whole home unless the customer asks us to leave some circuits out
- Monitoring in the Sigenergy app, set up and explained before we leave
How every job like this runs
1. Free energy assessment from one or two recent power bills, or a 15-minute call.
2. Custom design sized from the household’s real usage, with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate (and solar STCs where panels are included) taken off at point of sale. We handle the paperwork.
3. Face-to-face site visit before install day: compliant battery position, switchboard and RCBO check, and agreement on what stays on in a blackout. No surprises on the day.
4. Install, usually one day, by our own electricians. No subcontractors. Then monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.
Warranties: 10-year battery, 10-year inverter replacement and our 25-year workmanship warranty on our installation work.
The federal battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027 and again on 1 July 2027, based on install date. If a battery is on your list, it’s worth getting your assessment done early.
