EV chargers for workplaces, fleets and customers, planned around your supply and your trading hours.
More staff, customers and visitors are arriving in electric cars, and more business fleets are going electric. Commercial charging is mostly an electrical planning job: how much power your site can spare, how to share it, and how to install it without disrupting the business. Our background is large commercial electrical work, so this is home ground.

Who it suits
- Workplaces: staff charging during the day, often straight from your solar.
- Fleets: utes, vans and pool cars charged overnight, ready for the morning.
- Accommodation, venues and shops: charging for guests and customers, a growing reason to choose one business over another.
AC or DC fast charging?
Most workplaces and accommodation use AC chargers. Cars are parked for hours, so steady charging is plenty, and installation is simpler. DC fast chargers charge much faster but need a large electricity supply and cost far more to install. They suit sites where cars stop for a short time. We’ll recommend what fits how your site is used.
Planning your site
Supply capacity. We look at your existing supply, three-phase capacity and switchboard. Several chargers running at once can be a big load, and a supply upgrade may need approval from Essential Energy. We tell you early if that’s likely.
Load management. Smart chargers can share the available power between cars, and slow down when the building is busy. This often lets you install more charging points without upgrading the supply.
Access and payment. Chargers can be open, limited to staff or fleet, or set up so drivers pay through an app. We help you choose the right set-up for how you want it used.
Future-proofing. Running conduit and capacity for extra bays now costs far less than digging up the car park later.
Pair it with commercial solar
Daytime charging lines up well with solar output. If your business is considering solar, design both together. See commercial solar.

Commercial EV charger FAQs
Should we install AC or DC fast chargers?
Most workplaces and accommodation suit AC chargers, because cars are parked for hours. DC fast chargers suit short stops but need a large supply. We recommend what fits your site.
How many chargers can our building handle?
It depends on your supply and switchboard. Load management can share power between chargers, which often allows more charging points without a supply upgrade. We assess your site first.
Can we charge drivers for using our chargers?
Yes. Chargers can be set up so drivers pay through an app, or limited to staff and fleet vehicles.
Can the chargers run from our solar?
Yes. Daytime charging lines up well with solar, and we can design solar and charging together.
Will we need a supply upgrade?
Not always. If several chargers would exceed your supply, an upgrade may need Essential Energy approval. We tell you early and handle the application.
