We are an accredited Brighte installer and NETCC accredited, which the program requires, so we can take you through the whole thing on your energy assessment.
Who can apply
According to the NSW Government and Brighte, you need to:
- own the property in NSW, as an owner-occupier or a landlord
- have a combined taxable household income of $210,000 or less a year
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- meet Brighte’s credit assessment
Social housing and properties used for short-stay accommodation aren’t eligible. Full details are on the official Home Energy Saver page.
How it works with the rebates
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate and solar STCs come off your price first, at point of sale. The loan then covers the rest, up to $15,000. If your system costs more than that after rebates, we can talk through the balance, including other Brighte finance options.
With the rebates off first and the loan covering the rest, many of our customers can get solar and a battery with little or nothing to pay upfront, and the repayments are often offset by what they save on their power bills. We will show you how it looks with your own bills rather than a generic example.
The loan terms
- 0% p.a. (comparison rate 0% p.a.)
- Up to $15,000, repaid over up to 10 years
- No establishment or account fees. A late payment fee may apply if you miss a repayment
- Brighte says you can repay early at any time without an early repayment fee
The program also covers EV chargers, so a home EV charger can be part of the same plan.
How we take you through it
1. Free energy assessment: send us one or two recent power bills, or book a 15-minute call.
2. Custom design: we size the solar and battery to your real usage, with the rebates built in, and show what the loan would cover.
3. Brighte application: we help you start the application. Approval is Brighte’s decision.
4. Site visit: face to face, before every install. We check the battery position and your switchboard so there are no surprises.
5. Install: usually one day, by our own electricians. We handle the grid application, monitoring set-up and a sign-off call.
Watch the rebate dates too
The loan is one part. The battery rebate itself steps down on 1 January 2027 and again on 1 July 2027, set by the install date. See our battery rebate step-down page. To work out the right system size first, see battery sizing from your power bills, or read about solar and battery installation across the Northern Rivers.
