The Pocket: 30 AIKO panels and a 16 kWh battery (August 2025)
A home on a grey metal roof with skylights, backing onto forest at The Pocket, north of Mullumbimby. Thirty all-black AIKO Neostar panels (460 W each) are set out in blocks around the skylights, some on tilt frames, with a 10 kW Sigenergy SigenStor controller and a 16 kWh battery, as claimed for the job.

Goonengerry: SolarEdge with optimisers and backup (June 2024)
A timber-clad home in the hills west of Mullumbimby. Twenty-seven Jinko Tiger Neo panels (440 W each), 11.88 kW, sit on Clenergy’s black anodised mounting rails with SolarEdge power optimisers, feeding a SolarEdge SE8250H inverter, a 9.7 kWh SolarEdge home battery and a SolarEdge Backup Interface for blackouts.

Wilsons Creek: a 16 kWh Sigenergy battery (March 2026)
Close to our workshop at Wilsons Creek, a home got 12 new AIKO Neostar panels (480 W each) on a new racking system, an 8 kW Sigenergy SigenStor controller and two battery modules, about 16 kWh, on a level base under the house.

How every job like this runs
1. Free energy assessment from one or two recent power bills, or a quick phone call on 0483 903 020.
2. Custom design sized from the household’s real usage, with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate and solar STCs taken off at point of sale. We handle the paperwork. See your rebates or try the battery rebate calculator.
3. Face-to-face site visit before install day: compliant battery position, switchboard and RCBO check, and agreement on what stays on in a blackout. No surprises on the day.
4. Install, usually one day, by our own electricians. No subcontractors. Then monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.
Warranties
Every new install from us now comes with a 10-year battery warranty, 10-year inverter replacement, 25-year panel performance and our 25-year workmanship warranty on our installation work. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer warranties.
The federal battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027 and again on 1 July 2027, based on install date. If a battery is on your list, it’s worth getting your assessment done early.
Questions we get asked
What are SolarEdge power optimisers?
Small units under each panel that let every panel work on its own, which helps where trees shade part of the array at different times of day.
What is a SolarEdge Backup Interface?
The SolarEdge part that switches the home to battery power when the grid goes down, much like a Sigenergy Gateway.
Why tilt frames on some panels?
Tilt frames lift panels on a low or awkwardly facing roof towards the sun. On The Pocket job some panels sit on frames.
What happens when the grid goes down?
The Sigenergy Gateway switches the home over to the battery and solar. A typical install backs up the whole home unless you ask us to leave circuits out. See blackout backup batteries.
