The job

A Bogangar home among palms on the Tweed Coast, near Cabarita Beach, with a green corrugated roof made up of several faces and a brick wall that suited the battery. The household wanted solar and a battery for the evening. The design spread 12 panels over the faces that suit the sun, with the compact two-module SigenStor at ground level against the brick.

What we installed

• Solar: 12 Jinko Tiger Neo III panels (510 W each), 6.12 kW in total
• Battery and inverter: a Sigenergy SigenStor with a 10 kW single-phase energy controller and two battery modules, about 16 kWh of storage
• Consumption monitoring and app training

How it went

We met on site before install day to check the coastal distance for the battery, agree its position, and check the switchboard and RCBOs. The SigenStor stands on its feet against the brick wall, with conduit run neatly along the wall and the battery (ES) label and safety signage fitted. On the roof, the panels went on in straight runs on each face. Then came monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.

How every job like this runs

1. Free energy assessment from one or two recent power bills, or a quick phone call on 0483 903 020.

3. Face-to-face site visit before install day: compliant battery position, switchboard and RCBO check, and agreement on what stays on in a blackout. No surprises on the day.

4. Install, usually one day, by our own electricians. No subcontractors. Then monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.

Warranties

Every new install from us now comes with a 10-year battery warranty, 10-year inverter replacement, 25-year panel performance and our 25-year workmanship warranty on our installation work. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer warranties.

The federal battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027 and again on 1 July 2027, based on install date. If a battery is on your list, it’s worth getting your assessment done early.

Questions we get asked

Is Bogangar too close to the beach for a battery?

It depends on the exact distance and the brand. Sigenergy’s manual sets a minimum distance from the coast, and we check every Tweed Coast address against it at design time. Read solar batteries near the coast.

Can panels go on more than one roof face?

Yes. On this home the panels sit on several faces of the roof. We place them where the sun and the roof shape work best, and check shading from trees and palms on the site visit.

Is 16 kWh enough?

It suits many households with average evening use, sized from their own power bills. Sigenergy batteries are built from modules, two here, so more can be added later. See battery sizing.

Do you install on the Tweed Coast?

Yes. We install from Tweed Heads and Kingscliff down through Bogangar, Cabarita Beach and Pottsville, always with a face-to-face site visit first.
