The job
A rural property at Stokers Siding, near Murwillumbah, with a pale green Colorbond shed roof backing onto a steep grassy hillside and rainforest. The owners wanted a large solar system, and an old system on another shed was due to come off. The design used the big, open shed roof for 46 panels in long rows.
What we installed
- Solar: 46 Jinko Tiger Neo panels (510 W each), 23.46 kW in total
- Inverter: GoodWe SDT G2 three-phase (9.9 kW model, as recorded on the STC claim)
- Old system removed from another shed on the property
- Consumption monitoring and app training

How it went
We met on site before install day to look at both sheds, check the switchboard and plan the cable runs, so there were no surprises on the day. The panels went on in straight rows on the Colorbond, set back from the edges, with the cabling run in conduit along the roof. Then came monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.
Solar on rural blocks in the Tweed Valley
Valley properties often have a shed with a better roof for solar than the house, and longer cable runs to think about. Many also want a battery for storms and outages; read about blackout backup batteries, our off-grid solar work, and a nearby valley job, a 25 kWh GoodWe battery in Tyalgum.
How every job like this runs
1. Free energy assessment from one or two recent power bills, or a quick phone call on 0483 903 020.
2. Custom design sized from the household’s real usage, with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate and solar STCs taken off at point of sale. We handle the paperwork. See your rebates or try the battery rebate calculator.
3. Face-to-face site visit before install day: compliant battery position, switchboard and RCBO check, and agreement on what stays on in a blackout. No surprises on the day.
4. Install, usually one day, by our own electricians. No subcontractors. Then monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.
Warranties
10-year battery, 10-year inverter replacement, 25-year panel performance and our 25-year workmanship warranty on our installation work. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer warranties.
The federal battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027 and again on 1 July 2027, based on install date. If a battery is on your list, it’s worth getting your assessment done early.
Questions we get asked
Can a big solar system go on a shed?
Yes, if the roof and structure suit. A shed roof is often the best spot on a rural block: big, unshaded and easy to work on. We check the roof, the fixings and the cable run back to the switchboard on the site visit. See how big a solar system do I need.
What happens to an old solar system when you replace it?
On this job we took an old system off another shed on the property as part of the work. We check old equipment on the site visit and agree what stays and what goes.
Can a battery be added later?
Yes. Many systems can take a battery later. Ask us on the assessment. See adding a battery to existing solar.
Do you install out in the Tweed Valley?
Yes. We install across the Northern Rivers, including the Tweed Valley around Murwillumbah, Stokers Siding, Uki and Tyalgum, and we do a face-to-face site visit before every install.
Thinking about solar and a battery?
We’re based near Mullumbimby and install across the Northern Rivers. See solar and batteries in Murwillumbah and the Tweed Valley, or compare Sigenergy, GoodWe and Sungrow, Solax and Tesla.
