How do I turn on alerts and notifications in mySigen and SEMS+?

Short answer. In mySigen go to Setting, App Setting, then turn on Notification and Message Settings. In SEMS+ go to Account, then Notifications, and set up Event Subscription. Also check your phone has allowed notifications for the app.

Alerts tell you when the system raises an alarm or changes status, so you are not the last to know. They are an extra, not a replacement for checking the app after a storm.

Safety first. Notifications are an app task. Never open a switchboard, remove a cover from your battery or inverter, or touch any wiring. Anything beyond the app, a light you can read from a safe distance, or your own router is a job for a licensed electrician. If you see smoke, smell burning, hear arcing or see water on or near the unit: keep everyone away, switch off at your main switch only if it is safe to do so, and call 000 if there is any fire or smoke.

mySigen (Sigenergy)

  1. Open mySigen and tap Setting, then App Setting.
  2. Turn on Notification (this is the phone push permission) and check Message Settings (messages appear under Service, then Messages).
  3. To look at current alarms, go to Home, then Notice, or the Service tab.

SEMS+ (GoodWe)

  1. Open SEMS+ and go to Account, then Notifications.
  2. Choose Event Subscription. GoodWe says it sends alerts for alarms, faults or status changes, through the app message centre, email and so on, with options for quiet times and alarm types.
  3. To look at current alarms, tap Alarm on the home page.

If an alert arrives

Please do not try to decode fault codes. Take a screenshot, note the time, and call us. If you also see smoke, a burning smell or water near the unit, keep away and call 000.

If your phone is not showing alerts at all, check the phone’s own settings allow notifications for the app and are not set to silent or battery-saver.

Quick questions

Will I get an alert if my battery goes offline?

Notification options differ between apps and versions. Check what is available under your notification settings, and tell us if you want to talk it through.

Do alerts mean something is wrong?

Not always. Some are status messages. If it says alarm or fault, send us a screenshot.

Can I get alerts by email?

GoodWe says Event Subscription can send through email as well as the app. Check the options in your app.

Do the alerts reach us too?

Do not assume they do. If you have an alarm, tell us.
