What do the lights on my Sigenergy battery mean?
Short answer. The light panel on the front shows five symbols: DC (solar side), AC (grid side), battery, DC charger and signal. Green generally means running or connected, blue means off-grid or 4G, orange or red flashing or steady means a fault, and grey or off means not connected. Read them from where you stand, and tell us if you see red or orange.
Safety first. Read the lights from a safe distance; never open the cover to look closer. Never open a switchboard, remove a cover from your battery or inverter, or touch any wiring. Anything beyond the app, a light you can read from a safe distance, or your own router is a job for a licensed electrician. If you see smoke, smell burning, hear arcing or see water on or near the unit: keep everyone away, switch off at your main switch only if it is safe to do so, and call 000 if there is any fire or smoke.
What the symbols show
This is Sigenergy’s own indicator table for the SigenStor, in plain English. Your unit may show only some of these.
- DC symbol (solar side): green steady = running; white steady = connected but not running; grey = not connected; orange flashing = DC side fault; red steady = inverter failure.
- AC symbol (grid side): green steady = grid-connected operation; blue steady = off-grid operation (a blackout); blue flashing = off-grid overload; white = connected but not running; grey = not connected; orange flashing = AC side fault; red steady = inverter failure.
- Battery symbol: green flashing = charging; blue flashing = discharging; white steady = connected but not running; grey = dormant; red flashing = some batteries faulty; red steady = all batteries faulty.
- Signal symbol: grey/off = not connected to Sigenergy’s management system; green flashing = connected to the local app; green steady = connected over Ethernet or Wi-Fi; blue steady = connected over 4G; blue flashing = not enough 4G data.
What to do
- If the lights look normal but the app says offline, see our Wi-Fi reconnect guide.
- If you see red or orange, take a photo from where you are standing, check the app under Notice or Service, and call us. Do not switch anything off and on.
- If you see blue on the AC symbol and the house still has power, the unit is probably running off-grid during a blackout. That is normal: see our blackout guide.
Sigenergy also lets you light up the unit’s LED strip from the app to help find it, and the Home screen has a Lighting section: the lights can be set to show the power flow, running top to bottom while charging and bottom to top while discharging.

Quick questions
Why is the signal light grey?
Grey or off means the unit is not connected to Sigenergy’s management system. Check your Wi-Fi first, then see our reconnect guide.
What does flashing blue on the AC symbol mean?
Sigenergy lists it as off-grid overload operation. Tell us if you see it, and avoid running big loads.
Can I turn the lights off?
The lighting can be changed under Home, Lighting in the mySigen app. If you would like it dimmer or off, ask us first.
Should I worry about a red light?
Please tell us. Red steady means inverter failure and red flashing means batteries faulty, per Sigenergy. Do not try to fix it yourself.
