How do I read the mySigen app?
Short answer. Open mySigen and the Home screen shows four things: solar (what your panels are making now), battery (charging or discharging, and how full), grid (buying or sending out) and home (what your house is using now). Alarms are under Notice or Service, and your mode is under Mode.
mySigen is free on Google Play and the App Store (search for “mySigen”). We set up your owner login during commissioning using the email you gave us: look for an email from “sigencloud”, click the link and choose your password. Forgotten it? Tap Forgot Password on the login screen.
Safety first. The app is the safe way to look at your system. Never open a switchboard, remove a cover from your battery or inverter, or touch any wiring. Anything beyond the app, a light you can read from a safe distance, or your own router is a job for a licensed electrician. If you see smoke, smell burning, hear arcing or see water on or near the unit: keep everyone away, switch off at your main switch only if it is safe to do so, and call 000 if there is any fire or smoke.
A two-minute tour
- Home screen. It shows running information with Diagnosis, Notice, Mode, Safety and Lighting sections. Newer versions show a 3D energy-flow picture that refreshes about every 10 seconds.
- Solar is what the panels are producing right now. Battery shows power going in (charging) or out (discharging) and the percentage full, called state of charge or SOC. Grid shows whether you are buying power or sending extra out. Home is what the house is using.
- Battery full but still sending power out? That is normal in self-consumption mode: solar runs the house first, then charges the battery, and anything left goes to the grid.
- Alarms and messages: Home, then Notice, or the Service tab. If you see an alarm, do not try to read the code yourself: tell us.
- Mode: Home, then Mode (or Setting, then Operational Mode). We set it to suit you at install, so have a chat with us before changing it.
- Connection: Setting, then Connectivity shows Ethernet, Wi-Fi and 4G status.
- Warranty: Service, then Warranty.
- Notifications: Setting, then App Setting, then turn on Notification and Message Settings.
The modes in plain English
- Self-Consumption: solar powers the home first, extra charges the battery, the rest goes to the grid. The battery powers the home when solar is not enough.
- Time-based Control (TOU): you set charging and discharging periods. Outside them solar powers the home and charges the battery, and the battery does not discharge.
- Fully Fed to Grid: aims to send as much as possible to the grid.
- Sigen AI Mode: learns your usage, local prices and the weather to plan charging and discharging.
- Remote EMS Mode: lets an energy company control the system. Sigenergy’s manual says not to enter or leave this mode without your installer’s confirmation.
We do not tell customers which mode will save the most, because it depends on your bills and your tariff. If you want to talk it through, call us.
A note on versions: Sigenergy’s manual was written for an older version of the app and says the actual screen shown prevails. Menu names may have moved. If you cannot find something, call us.

Quick questions
Why is my battery charging from the grid?
Usually a setting doing its job: Time-based Control during a charging period, Sigen AI Mode, or an energy company controlling the system. If you did not expect it, let us know and we will check your settings.
My solar looks low today. Is something wrong?
Cloud, shade, heat and time of year all lower output. It can also look low when the battery is full and the house is using little. If it is low on a clear sunny day, or the app shows an alarm, tell us.
Can my partner see the system too?
Yes. Sigenergy has a short official video on sharing your system with someone else, and we are happy to help set it up.
What does SOC mean?
State of charge: how full your battery is, as a percentage. 100% is full.
