Solar and battery packages explained: what is in one, and how to compare them
A package is a solar and battery system sold as a bundle. The right one depends on your bills, so ours are sized from your real usage, not picked off a shelf. Here is what is normally inside, what to compare, and how Sigenergy (premium) and GoodWe (mid-tier) packages differ.
NSW Home Energy Saver program: 0% interest loan up to $15,000 for solar and batteries, through Brighte, up to 10 years. Rebates come off first. Loans by Brighte. Eligibility and lender approval apply.

What is in a package
- Solar panels: AIKO or Jinko, sized to your roof and usage.
- Battery and inverter: Sigenergy (premium) or GoodWe (mid-tier), in the size your bills call for. We also install Sungrow, SolaX and Tesla.
- Mounting, cabling and protection: including any switchboard work and RCBOs to meet current safety standards.
- Monitoring: the app set up and explained.
- Paperwork: the grid application and the federal rebates built in.
- Install by our own team: no subcontractors, after a face-to-face site visit.
- Warranties: 25-year workmanship on our install, 25-year panel performance, 10-year inverter replacement and 10-year battery warranties.
Sigenergy or GoodWe package?
- Sigenergy (premium): a modular all-in-one with strong expansion, backup and EV options. See is Sigenergy worth it?
- GoodWe (mid-tier): very high quality at a lower tier, with an all-in-one ESA and stackable modules. See are GoodWe batteries any good?
How to compare packages fairly
- Same usable battery kWh and same backup scope.
- Same panel brand and total watts.
- Switchboard work included or not?
- A site visit included before install?
- Who installs: employees or subcontractors?
- Is the rebate shown as a discount, and which install date does it assume?
Your own price depends on the things above, so we confirm it after a free assessment and site visit. See what decides the cost, our solar packages page and battery sizing. Rebates and the NSW 0% loan can reduce what you pay up front; many customers can get solar and a battery with no money down, and the loan repayments are often offset by their power bill savings.
Typical prices
Here is where typical systems start, with GST included. Most homes need something a little different, so treat these as a starting point.
- Solar only, 6.6 kW (Jinko panels): from $7,200 after rebates ($8,900 before rebates)
- Solar only, 6.6 kW (AIKO panels): from $7,900 after rebates ($9,600 before rebates)
- Solar + GoodWe battery, 6.6 kW + 16 kWh: from $12,500 after rebates ($18,200 before rebates)
- Solar + Sigenergy battery, 6.6 kW + 16 kWh: from $14,500 after rebates ($20,100 before rebates)
- Add a GoodWe battery to existing solar, 16 kWh: from $8,500 after rebates ($12,500 before rebates)
- Add a Sigenergy battery to existing solar, 16 kWh: from $10,700 after rebates ($14,600 before rebates)
The rebates are the solar STCs and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate, taken off at the point of sale. Bigger systems are on our solar packages page.

Questions we get asked
Do you sell fixed-price packages?
No. We size each system from your bills and quote after a free assessment and site visit.
What is the difference between a package and a custom quote?
A package is a fixed bundle. Ours start from your usage, so they are custom to your home, while still using proven combinations.
Can I add to a package later?
Yes. We design in headroom for extra panels, battery modules or an EV charger where we can.
Are rebates included?
Yes, the federal solar and battery rebates are built into the design and taken off at the point of sale.
Loans by Brighte. Eligibility and lender approval apply.
