What decides the cost of a solar and battery system? A local electrician explains
Typical systems start from $7,200 after rebates (see our solar packages), but the right system depends on your bills, your roof, your switchboard and what you want from backup. Here is exactly what moves the price, so you can compare quotes fairly. Your price is set after a free energy assessment and a site visit.
NSW Home Energy Saver program: 0% interest loan up to $15,000 for solar and batteries, through Brighte, up to 10 years. Rebates come off first. Loans by Brighte. Eligibility and lender approval apply.

All sizes and what is included: our solar and battery packages and prices, home battery prices by size and solar system prices by size.
The main things that change the price
- Solar size: more panels cost more, but they also create more federal solar rebates (STCs). See how the solar rebate works.
- Battery size and brand: usable kWh, and whether it is Sigenergy (premium), GoodWe (mid-tier), or another brand we install. See how to choose.
- Backup: running the whole home in a blackout, or only essential circuits, changes the equipment. See whole-home vs essential circuits.
- Single-phase or three-phase supply: see single-phase vs three-phase.
- Switchboard condition: an older board may need upgrading, including RCBOs, to meet current safety standards. See switchboard upgrades.
- Roof and access: roof type, pitch, shading and how far the battery sits from the switchboard.
- Rebates: the federal solar and battery rebates come off at the point of sale, so compare quotes with the rebate shown, not just the headline.
- Extras: an EV charger, extra monitoring or a compliant battery position that needs a bollard or a different wall.
How to compare quotes fairly
- Same usable battery kWh, same backup scope, same panel brand and wattage.
- Is a site visit included before the install? Remote quotes can hide extra costs that show up on the day.
- Who does the work: our own electricians or subcontractors? Who is on site?
- What warranties apply: our workmanship warranty on our installation is 25 years; equipment is covered by the manufacturer warranties.
Rebates and the NSW 0% loan can reduce what you pay up front; many customers can get solar and a battery with no money down, and the loan repayments are often offset by their power bill savings. Loan terms and eligibility are on our loan page.

Questions we get asked
Why do you not list prices?
Package prices depend on your usage, roof, switchboard and backup needs, and the rebates change over time. We give a firm proposal after the free assessment and a site visit.
Why are some quotes much cheaper?
Often because the battery is smaller, backup is limited, switchboard work is left out, or there is no site visit, which can lead to extras later. Compare like with like.
Do rebates come off the quote?
Yes. The federal solar and battery rebates are applied at the point of sale and we handle the paperwork.
How do I get a proper quote?
Send us one or two recent power bills for a free energy assessment, then we visit to check the battery position and switchboard.
