A mid-tier battery for a town home

This brick-and-tile home in Mullumbimby went with GoodWe, our mid-tier battery: the ESA all-in-one, with the inverter and two battery modules (about 16.6 kWh) in one tidy unit. Fourteen Jinko panels went on the grey tiles in a long two-row block facing the sun.

On site

The ESA stands on its feet against the brick wall under cover, with the two bollards in front and the conduits run straight up the bricks. We agreed the spot on the site visit, along with what stays on in a blackout.

How every job like this runs

Warranties

Every new install from us now comes with a 10-year battery warranty, 10-year inverter replacement, 25-year panel performance and our 25-year workmanship warranty on our installation work. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer warranties.

The federal battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027 and again on 1 July 2027, based on install date. If a battery is on your list, it’s worth getting your assessment done early.

Is the GoodWe ESA a good battery?

Why two bollards?

The battery sits where a car could reach it, so two protective bollards stand in front of it, as the battery standard requires.

How do I see what it is doing?

What happens when the grid goes down?

The Sigenergy Gateway switches the home over to the battery and solar. A typical install backs up the whole home unless you ask us to leave circuits out. See blackout backup batteries.
