Two More Battery Jobs at Federal: Sigenergy and a Sungrow Top-Up
Two more jobs at Federal, the small village in the green hills between Bangalow and Lismore: a new Sigenergy system with 14 AIKO panels on an old corrugated roof, and an extra 6.4 kWh of modules added to a household’s existing Sungrow battery.
Both were done by our own in-house team.

Job 1: 14 AIKO panels and a Sigenergy battery (April 2026)
An older home on a rural block, with a corrugated roof in two faces and the hills behind. The new system: 14 AIKO Neostar panels (475 W each) split across the two faces, an 8 kW Sigenergy SigenStor controller and a Sigenergy battery claimed at 32 kWh.
Job 2: topping up a Sungrow battery (January 2025)
This household already had a Sungrow SBR battery on a 5 kW Sungrow hybrid inverter. They wanted more storage, so we added 6.4 kWh of SBR modules to the stack and recommissioned the system so it uses the new capacity. A small job, but a common one: adding modules is often the cheapest way to get more out of a battery you already own.
Batteries in the Federal hills
Long rural lines and storms make storage popular here. See the other Federal jobs: a 32 kWh battery added to existing solar, a system built in two stages, 20 AIKO panels and a 16 kWh battery and Trina solar and a Sungrow battery.
How every job like this runs
1. Free energy assessment from one or two recent power bills, or a quick phone call on 0483 903 020.
2. Custom design sized from the household’s real usage, with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate and solar STCs taken off at point of sale. We handle the paperwork. See your rebates or try the battery rebate calculator.
3. Face-to-face site visit before install day: compliant battery position, switchboard and RCBO check, and agreement on what stays on in a blackout. No surprises on the day.
4. Install, usually one day, by our own electricians. No subcontractors. Then monitoring set-up, grid connection and a sign-off call.
Warranties
Every new install from us now comes with a 10-year battery warranty, 10-year inverter replacement, 25-year panel performance and our 25-year workmanship warranty on our installation work. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer warranties.
The federal battery rebate steps down on 1 January 2027 and again on 1 July 2027, based on install date. If a battery is on your list, it’s worth getting your assessment done early.
Questions we get asked
Can I add modules to my Sungrow battery?
Usually, yes, up to the stack limit. The system then needs recommissioning so it sees the new capacity, as on the second job here. See the Sungrow SBR owner guide.
Do new battery modules get the federal rebate?
The Cheaper Home Batteries rebate depends on the battery and how it is installed. We tell you what applies on your assessment. See who qualifies.
Does a small solar array suit a big battery?
It can, if the household’s use is mostly in the evening. We size both from your bills.
What happens when the grid goes down?
The Sigenergy Gateway switches the home over to the battery and solar. A typical install backs up the whole home unless you ask us to leave circuits out. See blackout backup batteries.
Thinking about solar and a battery?
We’re based near Mullumbimby and install across the Northern Rivers. See Bangalow and solar and batteries in Lismore, or compare Sigenergy, GoodWe and Sungrow, Solax and Tesla.
