Solar for shops, workshops, farms, accommodation and offices, designed around when your business actually uses power.
Businesses often use most of their power during the day, which is exactly when solar produces it. The trick is getting the size and set-up right for your site. Our background is 25 years in solar and large commercial electrical work, so three-phase boards, big sheds and busy sites are routine.

Designed from your data
We start with your power bills and, where available, your interval data: the half-hourly record of when your site uses power. That shows your daytime load, your peaks and what happens on weekends and holidays. We size the system so most of the solar is used on site.
We also look at your tariff. Many businesses are on time-of-use or demand-based tariffs, and the right design depends on how your bill is worked out.
Your roof and site
- Roof type and condition: metal sheds, older roofs, skylights and roof-mounted plant. If a roof needs attention before solar goes on, we say so.
- Switchboards: commercial boards vary widely in age and capacity. We check yours on the site visit.
- Coastal and rural sites: we check equipment and fixings suit the location.
Rebates and approvals
STCs: solar systems up to 100 kW can earn small-scale technology certificates, taken off at point of sale. Larger systems are handled differently, under the large-scale scheme. We explain which applies to you.
Network approval: every system needs a connection application to Essential Energy, and larger systems involve more assessment and may have export limits. We handle the application.
Tax: talk to your accountant about how solar is treated for your business. We provide the paperwork they need.
Batteries for business
A battery can carry your solar into the evening, keep critical equipment running in an outage, and help with peak charges on some tariffs. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate is also available to businesses with solar up to 100 kW. It steps down on 1 January 2027: see battery rebate step-down. We install Sigenergy (premium) and GoodWe (mid-tier), along with Sungrow, Solax and Tesla.
Installed around your business
We plan the install around your trading hours and keep your site safe and running. Our own electricians do the work, with no subcontractors. Afterwards we set up monitoring so you can see what the system is doing.

Commercial solar FAQs
How do you size solar for a business?
From your power bills and, where available, your half-hourly interval data, plus your trading hours and tariff. The aim is to use as much of the solar on site as possible.
Can businesses get STCs for solar?
Yes. Systems up to 100 kW can earn small-scale technology certificates, taken off at point of sale. Larger systems fall under the large-scale scheme.
Does my business need a battery?
Not always. A battery suits businesses that use power into the evening, need backup for critical equipment, or have tariffs that charge for peak demand. We tell you whether it makes sense.
Will the installation disrupt trading?
We plan the work around your trading hours and keep the site safe and running throughout.
Do you handle the approval with Essential Energy?
Yes. We prepare and submit the connection application and deal with any export limits.
